A - Z Challenge - I for Ibiza

Woops! My post came early. This was supposed to be Mondays and I hadn't even finished it. Looks like you're enjoying it anyhow, so have fun! I'll leave it as it is...

Today I feel like a stroll through Ibiza. I'll be in Spain in a couple of months. Maybe I should take a quick flight here?

Where is this fabulous holiday playground? Just south of the island of Majorca.

Rather lovely beach

Oh, Denise, do go to Ibiza... IT is SPECTACULAR!

On of my Fav places to go in Spain, well off Spain. Plus the Costa Del Sol is stunning in the summer. Hit Marbella if you can. Valencia and Barcelona.... Torremolinos is fun, but touristy. The best way to enjoy it is drive along the Mediterranean to each place. So lovely.

Oh, I've always wanted to go to Ibiza, or anywhere in Spain actually. Beautiful!

My sister got to visit the area around Rota many years ago and she fell in love with it.

Great job with the A-Z challenge.

Some years ago I had the opportunity to visit Drach Caves on Majorca/Mallorca and the concert on the underground lake was an experience of a lifetime.

That is the thing with the scheduler. Every now and then it does that to me too. Still, nice images in the post. I actually studied Spanish for 4 years in high school but the language classes didn't do trips till after I graduated. My sister on the other hand, studied French but she got to travel to France and Spain. So jealous of her. She has been to New Zealand too.

Denise Covey said...

Dawn, well you really must get off to Spain and use your language skills. There's nothing like going to a country to help your ear. That's why I try to get to France often. When I'm there some people think I'm a local, but I soon lose it when I come home.

I wish I remembered anything useful. I haven't had to really try since the 2nd year and I haven't studied since the 4th, so about 8 years. I can say things like "I don't speak spanish", random works, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" from 501 verb book, and a few other phrases. Nothing more. I'm not very good at learning a new language though I really should try again.

Raquel: Now where else would I be?

Dawn: The older you get the harder it is. I'm jealous of students who go to the country they're studying. Grr.

This looks amazing. I'm teaching our yr7s Spanish, little ol' Yass can't afford to do overseas trips, but we might have to do a bit of a virtual trip starting with your blog :)

How sweet is that! I wish I could speak Spanish!

Ibiza does have a reputation as being a wild party place for drunken youths. I wonder if you have any extra facts to counter that perception?

Hi,

Gorgeous tranquil place, until the dawn of package holiday flights: now cheaper than a train ticket from London to Exeter! ;)

Yes, you are a little ahead Denise.. :) And I'm juggling between collecting and selling my durians and keeping up with the Challenge schedule!

Ibiza looks marvelous. Spain is one of the countries I haven't visited.

Yay for Ibiza! Are you going to hit the clubs? Go go go!

Denise Covey said...

As far as I know Francine's right - cheap holiday flights mean a wild party destination, not my favourite kind of holiday, but there are parts which are still tranquil if you can get away from the crowded parts.

And Denise, it is my Ninja skills that enable me to visit so many of my friends. Some days I don't see all of them, as the list keeps growing. But I appreciate all of them!

We never made it here...I have heard it is a 'hot spot' for the young and fabulous...I'm not sure I'm eligible.

Ibiza. Never knew such a name/place existed. See how you're broadening my geographical horizons! And I read your Haiti post to do catchup. Those "poor" people! How one's heart aches for them.
