More of wonderful Morocco - climbing sand dunes in the Sahara Desert at sunset.

Riding the dunes up to the highest point in the Sahara Desert in Morocco.

On top of the Sahara Desert with my 2 Berber guides, looking over to Algeria.

Off the camel, time to don Berber dress for the sunset viewing.

Gorgeous view, huh?

Caught in sunset's glow.

A Berber semi-nomadic camp in the Sahara Desert.

No one would argue that we didn't need our bed that night!

  • How did you enjoy your trip up the Saharan sand dunes? I hope you'll leave a comment.

These pictures are like the backdrop from some epic film :-)

Sarah, they make tons of films in Morocco. I'll do a post to show you later - Star Wars for starters! Thanks for dropping by.

I am sure there is more sand there than when we were in the Sahara, but perhaps where you were was a sandier area. We saw sand, but masses of scrub. Diane

You're so lucky to have traveled there. Stunning pics! What a dramatic looking hotel room, too.

I look at these and remember scenes from "Lawrence of Arabia" ;-) You could have been cast in the movie, with that superb desert garb you are sporting. My dad was born and raised in Boufarik, Algeria. I noticed you could see Algeria in one of the pictures. Very cool. Thank you for visiting my blog today. Glad you enjoyed the story on the amazing "2CV" -- Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Diane: We had to drive many miles by 4WD to get to the sandy desert. 70% of the desert is shaly rock.

Lisa: Yeah, that hotel room was a stunner. So was the whole hotel.

French girl: It really did feel 'Lawrence of Arabia' ish.

What a wonderful adventure you had in Morocco, lovely photos and I am sure you were more than ready for that inviting bed at the end of the day.

LindyLou: Sure was, after a swim in the pool!

You have some beautiful photos here. How long where you riding the camels? I have been on camels a couple of time, in Tunisia and in Egypt. I think after a while I’d get seasick. You have several blogs and I did not know on which one to comment – but I looked at all of them. You are a busy person – I can hardly keep track of my one blog!

Vagabonde: Hi, sorry, yes, it's confusing and at the moment I've not been able to keep up with all my blogs but I am slowing down some projects.

We only rode camels for one afternoon. It was rather uncomfortable and I wouldn't want to do it all day!
